Quantitative data about the preparation and baking in wood-kiln of actual reproductions of Greek and Roman pottery. The authors present the results of practical experimentation obtained in reproducing Greek and Roman pottery. The surface area required for the activity of a pottery workshop, the quantity of water and wood needed for the preparation, than the firing of the kiln and the control of the fire are some of the precious indications for a better understanding of antique pottery workshops and their contraints.

Les auteurs présentent les résultats d'expérimentations pratiques faites à l'occasion de la reconstitution de céramiques grecques et romaines. Les superficies nécessaires à l'activité d'un atelier de potier, ainsi que les quantités d'eau et de bois pour la préparation, puis la cuisson d'une fournée, la conduite du feu, sont des indications précieuses pour l'approche des ateliers antiques et de leurs contraintes.
