In 1993, following the accidental discovery of the floors of Iron Age huts when a track was opened on the north slopes of the Mont-Aurélien near Pourrières in the Var, a preventive excavation was carried out. Analysis of this type of unfortified habitat, unknown in the Var up till now, showed huts dug into the palaeosol and consisting of perishable matter. It provides a new contribution to the knowledge of this type of occupation of the soil. The study of the hand- made pottery based on two CI4 dalings allows a reasonable typological and chronological attribution to the Early and Late Iron Ages in the department.

Une fouille préventive a été réalisée en 1993, à la suite de la découverte fortuite de fonds de cabanes de l'Age du fer, lors de l'ouverture d'une piste sur les pentes nord du Mont-Aurélien, à Pourrières, dans le Var. L'analyse de ce type d'habitat non fortifié, jusqu'alors méconnu dans le Var, a mis en évidence des cabanes creusées dans le paléosol et constituées de matériaux périssables. Elle apporte une contribution nouvelle à la connaissance de ce mode d'occupation du sol. L'étude de la céramique non tournée, appuyée sur deux datations Cl4, permet une approche typologique et chronologique raisonnable pour le premier et le second Ages du fer dans le département.
