À l'origine de la présente étude, la lecture critique d'un ouvrage collectif offrant une série de variations sur le thème « réactivé » des rapports droit/politique. Il s'est agi de voir comment les sciences du politique et du juridique s'observent de part et d'autre de cet objet qui tend à leur devenir commun : le droit. Pour mieux saisir l'état actuel de ce débat méthodologique, une démarche en trois temps est mise en œuvre. D'abord, un état des lieux, marqué par l'affrontement des « intégrismes » disciplinaires : à l'antijuridisme des politistes répond la volonté de pureté des juristes. Puis, une description des nouveaux champs disciplinaires issus de l'interpénétration croissante du droit et de la politique. Enfin une réflexion sur l'intensité des reclassements en cours : les juristes n'ont pas renoncé au positivisme, ni les politistes à leur scepticisme à l'égard du droit.
