Central Emilia during the Hellenistic period : facts for a debate Data collected since 1985 enable us to sketch a new picture of the settlement in Central Emilia from the IVth to the IInd c. BC. One can register, beside Boian settlements, known mostly from the end of the IVth c. onwards and the object of a study in progress, important Etruscan survivals, particularly conspicuous in piedmont area and along the Po during the IVth c. During the IIIrd c., elements of Ligurian culture appear on the Apennine, and in the plain appear the first witnesses of a precolonial presence. The IInd c. is characterized by the contacts between the first Roman colons of Cispadane Gaul and marginalized local populations.

Luigi Malnati, L’Émilie centrale à l’époque hellénistique : éléments d’une discussion Les données recueillies depuis 1985 permettent d’esquisser une nouvelle image du peuplement de l’Émilie centrale du IVe au IIe siècle avant J.-C. : on peut observer, à côté d’établissements boïens, connus surtout à partir de la fin du IVe siècle, en cours d’étude actuellement, d’importantes persistances étrusques, particulièrement évidentes au IVe siècle dans la zone de piémont et le long du cours du Pô. Au IIIe siècle se manifestent sur l’Apennin des éléments culturels ligures et dans la plaine les premières présences «précoloniales». Le IIe siècle est marqué par les rapports entre les premiers colons romains de Cispadane et les populations locales marginalisées.
