: In Mali, between French, the official language, and the different regional languages which have been progressively marginalized, Bambara has aquired an increasing role. Most of the big towns are now bambaraphone and this vehicular language which is influenced by french lexically as well as phonetically and morpho-syntaxically, is progressing more and more within the rural areas, considering its function as a mean of introduction to modernity.

RÉSUMÉ : Au Mali, le bambara joue, entre le français, langue officielle, et les langues régionales progressivement marginalisées, un rôle croissant. La plupart des grandes villes sont désormais bambarophones, et cette langue véhiculaire, qui subit l'influence du français tant au plan lexical que phonétique et morpho-syntaxique, progresse aussi dans les zones rurales, affirmant sa fonction de langue d'introduction à la modernité.
