Bernard Fourcade und Maurice Ourtau, Das Berufsbildungszeugnis (BEP) : ein Diplom mit doppelter Zielsetzung. Seit zehn Jahren erfüllt das Berufsbildungszeugnis (BEP) eine doppelte Zweckbestimmung : zum (berufsorientierten) Abitur zu führen, und/oder auf den direkten Eintritt ins Berufsleben vorzubereiten. Die Leitung der Berufsoberschulen und insbesondere das Generalsekretariat der beratenden Berufsausschüsse (CPC) fragen sich jedoch, ob bei alien BEP in den verschiedenen Fachbereichen diese doppelte Zielsetzung berücksichtigt wurde. Denn für viele Verantwortliche, von den Regierungsräten bis zu den Schulleitern der Berufsoberschulen, scheint der BEP in erster Linie ein Abschluss « propädeutischer » Natur zu sein, eine einfache Etappe auf dem Weg zu berufsorientierten Abitursformen Dieser Beitrag stellt die Ergebnisse einer Untersuchung über die Heterogenität der unterschiedlichen BEP hinsichtlich dieser doppelten Zielsetzung vor. Für die wichtigsten zwölf BEP (deren Absolventen mehr als 80 % aller BEP- Absolventen ausmachen) lässt sich eine gewisse Abstufung festmachen, vom « propädeutischsten » BEP, welches mehr als 90 % der BEP- Inhaber den Weg zu berufsorientierten Abiturformen öffnet, bis zum « berufsorientiertesten » BEP, nach dessen Abschluss 50 % der Absolventen direkt ins Erwerbsleben eintreten. Ziel der Untersuchung war die Erstellung von Typologien unter verschiedenen Gesichtspunkten, um so Funktionsmodelle der BEP herauszuarbeiten, die schulische Aspekte sowie Beziehungen zum Produktionssystem berücksichtigen. Wenn diese Untersuchung auch keine ganz klare Typologie geben kann, so zeigt sie jedoch, dass die BEP heute, unter dem Einfluss der beruflichen und sozialen Gegebenheiten der Branchen und der Teilmärkte mit ihren eigenen Regeln, auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise funktionieren.

For more than ten years now, the BEP certificate of vocational studies has been serving two purposes : it leads to the vocational baccalauréat, as well as preparing students' direct entry into the labour market. Many of those in charge, from the general inspectors to the heads of vocational training establishments, feel that the BEP has obviously become basically just a stepping-stone towards preparing for the vocational baccalauréat. The Executive responsible for the Lycées in France, and especially the general secretariat of the CPC (Joint advisory council) have been attempting to establish, however, whether all the various BEPs in specialized fields have reacted in the same way to the setting up of this two-fold system. Here the authors present the results of a study on the heterogeneity of the various BEPs as regards the two-fold purpose they serve. Among the twelve main BEPs (whose holders amount to 80 % of all the BEP holders), the situation showed a gradient from the most « stepping-stone »-like BEP, which has enabled more than 90 % of its holders to continue their schooling with a view to obtaining the baccalauréat, to the most vocationally- tuned BEP, 50 % of whose holders have taken the path towards active life. The aim of this study was in fact to draw up typologies based on several different points of view, in order to obtain functional models for the BEP in which the educational aspects and the links with the system of production are both taken into account. Although it did not yield a perfectly defined typology, the results show that the BEPs function differently, depending on the professional and social specificities of the branches and labour sub-markets involved, each of which has its own particular rules.
Depuis plus de dix ans, le BEP s'est vu confier une « double finalité » : conduire au baccalauréat (professionnel), et/ou préparer à l'entrée directe sur le marché du travail. Pour de nombreux responsables, depuis les inspecteurs généraux jusqu'aux proviseurs de lycées professionnels, semblait s'imposer l'idée que le BEP était devenu fondamentalement un diplôme de nature « propédeutique », simple étape dans l'accès au baccalauréat professionnel. La Direction des lycées et tout spécialement le secrétariat général des Commissions professionnelles consultatives se sont cependant inquiétés de savoir si tous les BEP, dans les divers domaines de spécialités, avaient réagi de la même manière à l'instauration de la double finalité. Cet article présente les résultats d'une étude sur l'hétérogénéité des divers BEP relativement à la double finalité. Pour les douze plus importants BEP (dont les diplômés représentent plus de 80 % de l'ensemble des diplômés BEP), il existe un dégradé de situations, depuis le BEP le plus « propédeutique », qui permet à plus de 90 % des diplômés de poursuivre leurs études vers un baccalauréat, jusqu'au plus « professionnel », pour lequel plus de 50 % des diplômés se dirigent vers la vie active. L'ambition était bien la construction de typologies, constituées en fonction de plusieurs angles de vue, afin de dégager des « modèles » de fonctionnement des BEP intégrant les aspects scolaires et les rapports au système productif. Si cette recherche ne débouche pas sur une typologie parfaitement stabilisée, elle montre cependant que les BEP fonctionnent aujourd'hui de façons différentes, sous l'influence de réalités professionnelles et sociales de branches et de sous-marchés du travail qui ont leurs règles spécifiques.
