Angesichts der Schwierigkeit, diese Berufssparte anhand der von den Akteuren dieses Bereichs verwendeten Berufsbezeichnungen zu ordnen, wird in der vorliegenden Studie eine Klassifizierung nach Aufgabenbereichen vorgenommen. Eine automatische Klassifikation von einundvierzig Grundaufgaben führte zur Neueinteilung in siebzehn Funktionen und sechs Berufe. Daraus ergab sich, dass der soziale Berufsbereich durch Geschlechter- und Qualifikationsoppositionen gekennzeichnet ist. Ältere Berufe haben ihre spezifischen Besonderheiten verloren, neue Berufe sind hinzugekommen, aber keiner von ihnen kann einem spezifischen Ausbildungssystem zugeordnet werden.

The latest changes in the patterns of social intervention have been accompanied by various adaptive attempts on the part of the orchestrators involved. Since it has proved to be so difficult to classify occupations based on the nomenclature officially adopted in this field, it was proposed here to define a scheme of classification based rather on the tasks performed. Allotting forty-one basic tasks to various classes yielded seventeen functions and six different occupations. The structure of the field of social intervention was found to depend on gender differences and on the qualifications of the workers. The older occupations have lost their specificity and new jobs have emerged, although no links can be observed with any specific system of training.

Devant la difficulté à classer les métiers selon les dénominations utilisées par les acteurs du champ, nous avons bâti une classification à partir des tâches accomplies. En opérant des classifications automatiques sur un ensemble de quarante et une tâches élémentaires, nous avons pu reconstruire dix-sept fonctions et six métiers. Le domaine de l'intervention sociale est alors structuré par l'opposition des genres et des qualifications. Les professions anciennes ont perdu de leur spécificité et de nouveaux métiers sont apparus, mais aucun ne peut être rapporté à un système de formation spécifique.
