Informatik im Archiv : Tatsache ?i, Entwicklungsrichtungen, Fragen. Eine Analyse der Antworten auf die für 1983 vom Französischen Archivarverein zur Untersuchung gestellte Frage : «Im Archiv benutzte oder benutzbare Informatik-materialen und -netze : Untersuchung gegebener Fâlle », die vor allem Départemental-und Gemeindearchive im Auge hatte, wirft zunächst einige grundsätzliche Fragen auf : Was erwarten die Archivbehörden von der informatischen Behandlung (verbes-serte Maschinenschrift oder Ausbeutung von Datengrundlagen) ? Wer, Informatiker oder Archivar, soll daruber entscheiden, welches System man sich zulegt ? Wiegt der bei der Datenausbeutung erzielte Zeitgewinn die mit der Datenerfassung verbrachte Zeit auf ? Kann man eine Vereinbarkeit unterschiedlicher Systerne zwischen verschiedenen Archivdienstellen in Erwägung ziehen, und zwar wie ? Ferner gestattet die Untersuchung die Aufstellung einer Ubersicht iiber die derzeitige Informatiklage der Archivbehörden : ein Gesamtbild des verfügbaren Materials und der in diesem Rahmen möglichen Wahl (vom Taschencomputer bis zum an einen Computer mit grosser Speicherkapazität angeschlossenen Terminal), eine Liste der verwirklichten oder geplanten Anwendungen (Behandlung zeitgenössischer Schriftgutabgaben — Serie W — , Listenfiihrung der zur Einsichtnahme vermittelten Schriftstücke, stetige Bestandaufnahme der Archivstellen, Verzeichnis gewisser Serien usw.). Man gelangt zu der Feststellung, dass die mangels landesweiter Koordination von jeder Archivbehörde durchge-führten Versuche persönlichem Unternehmungsgeist ohne wechselseitige Bindung entspringen, während die Probleme gemeinsam sind. Zur Klarstellung der erforderlichen gemeinsamen Lösungen erscheint das Wirken einer Nachdenkgruppe «Informatik » innerhalb des Französischen Archivarvereins wünschenswert.

Archives and the computer : facts , tendencies, queries. The annual questionnaire of the Association des archivistes français in 1983 was on " Computer hardware and software used or usable in archives services : a study of cases ". It was concerned mainly with départemental (i.e. provincial) and municipal archives. The replies to the questionnaire raised some basic questions. What can archivists expect from the use of computers : an amélioration in typing, or the exploitation of data banks ? Who is to take the decision for the choice of a system ; the archivist, or the ADP specialist ? Does the time gained by data processing include the time spent in their preparation ? Is it possible to use systems that are compatible between all archives services, and how ? The questionnaire also resulted in a general survey of the situation of ADP in archives services : existing hardware and possible options (from pocket computers to terminals linked to a big computer outside), list of applications existing or in project (processing of accessions or " serie W management of reading-rooms services, permanent survey of holdings, finding aids for certain archive groups, etc.). The conclusion is that, for lack of a coordination on a national scale, the experiences made by each archives service result from individual and scattered initiatives although the problems are common to all. In order to reach the common solutions which are needed, the creation of a permanent working group on ADP within the Association des archivistes français is advisable.

La informâtica en los archivos : hechos, tendencias , euestiones. El cuestionario anual de la Asociacion de Archiveros franceses en 1983 fue sobre «Materiales y redes informâticos utilizados o utilizables por los archivos : un estudio de casos », refiriendose especialmente a los archivos départementales (es decir, provinciales) y municipales. Las respuestas al cuestionario plantean unas cuestiones funda-mentales. dQue esperan los archivos de la informâtica : una dactilografia majorada, o la explotaciôn de bases de datos ? ¿ Quién debe decidir del sistema que elegir : el informâtico, o el archivera ? ¿ El tiempo ahorrado en el tratamiento de datos compensa el tiempo pasado en su entrada ? ¿ Es posible la compatibilidad de los sistemas informâticos entre los varios servicios ? ¿ Como ? La encuesta ademâs permitiô de trazar un panorama de la situaciôn actual de la informâtica en los archivos franceses : mate¬ riales existentes y su posible uso (de la computadora de bolsillo al terminal conectado a una grande computadore exterior) ; lista de las aplicaciones realizadas o proyeetadas (tratamiento de las entradas de documentos o «série W », gestion de las comunicaciones de documentos, inventario permanente de los depôsitos, repertorios de ciertos fondos, etc.) Finalmente se llega a la conclusion que, por falta de una coordinacion al nivel nacional, las experiencias intentadas por varios archiveros resultan de iniciativas indivi-duales y esparcidas, aunque los problemas sean comunes. Para sacar las soluciones comunes que se revelan necesarias, la creaciôn de un grupo de trabajo permanente sobre la informâtica en la Asociacion de Archiveros franceses es deseable.
