In the old inner city of Lisbon, globalization has both a standardizing effect which makes it similar to other international cities but also a discriminant effect which distinguishes it from other town centers. The interplay of actors in a complex real estate market explains the production of a distinctive territory. The combined use of the local heritage together with international standards appears to be the main factor for change in the tools and the territory. This explains a fluctuable posture from the public actors.

La mondialisation combine, dans le centre ancien de Lisbonne, des effets uniformisants qui le rendent semblable à ceux des villes mondiales et des effets discriminants qui le distinguent des autres. Le jeu des acteurs porté par un marché immobilier complexe explique la production d’un territoire original.
