A rare document : the book of accounts concerning the altarpiece of St Eulalie and Julie in Perpignan’s St John-the-Baptist Cathedral. The book, certified by a solicitor and kept in the Pyrénées Orientales Archives concerning St Eulalie and St Julie’s altarpiece gives the detailed accountancy concerning this work of art in three distinct parts : receipts, expenditures and bills. A valuable evidence for a well preserved altarpiece, the book allows an accurate analysis of its making, bearing numerous testimonies about the cash, as well as the materials, the guilds and the conditions of work.
