Analyses géographiques d'images satellitaires du Nord et de la Picardie (France) : méthodes, résultats et problèmes

During the last fifteen years, satellite imagery has been used to study the northern regions of France. The results has dealt with training on remote-sensing imagery, inspection of well-known phenomenons, and with the discovery of lineaments and of "rural rings" ("cernes agraires"), sometimes enigmatics ; at least, a new regionalization of the countryside has been proposed. Nowadays we are studying scientific processes in remote-sensing imagery interpretation and the characteristics of data really employed. Some remarks about the impact of satellite imagery on geographical research are proposed.

Depuis une quinzaine d'années, l'imagerie satellitaire utilisée sur ces régions a permis un apprentissage des techniques, la confirmation de phénomènes connus, la découverte de linéaments et de cernes agraires, une régionalisation des paysages enfin. On s'interroge sur les problématiques qui sous-tendent ces travaux, les caractères des données effectivement utilisées ; on propose enfin quelques thèmes de réflexion concernant l'impact possible des données satellitaires sur la recherche en géographie.
