This paper aims at analysing the spatial pattern of the characteristics of housing in Belgium, at a mesoscale (the commune ). Some characteristics of housing are first described : date of construction, comfort, size and status of occupation of the housing. A discriminant analysis is then conducted in order to compare the spatial structure observed on 16 variables related to housing and the level of urbanisation in each commune. A close relation is obser¬ ved between both spatial structures. This relation is especially true within the morphological agglomerations of the urban regions and outside the urban complexes.

Cet article s'intéresse à la structure spatiale des caractéristiques du logement en Belgique, à l'échelle communale. Quelques caractéristiques du logement sont d'abord décrites : âge, confort, taille et statut d'occupation des logements. Ensuite, une analyse discriminante permet de comparer la structure spatiale de 1 6 variables se rapportant au logement au niveau d'urbanisation de chaque commune. Une étroite relation entre le logement et le niveau d'urbanisation est ainsi mise en évidence, particulièrement dans le cas des agglomérations morphologiques des régions urbaines et des zones en dehors des complexes urbains.

Deze bijdrage behandelt de ruimtelijke structuur van de huisves-tingskenmerken in België, uitgaande van de gemeente als basi-seenheid. Vooreerst komen enkele markante kenmerken aan bod, m.n. bouwperiode, comfort, woninggrootte en eigndomss-tatus. Vervolgens wordt, via een discriminantenanalyse, het ruim-telijk patroon van 16 variabelen getoetst aan de structuur volgens de graad van verstedelijking. Hierbij kon de nauwe relatie tussen woningkenmerken enerzijds en verstedelijkingsgraad anderzijds, duidelijk aangetoond worden. Vooral de morfologische agglomerates van de stadsgewesten en de gebieden buiten de ste-delijke wooncomplexen tonen een zeer duidelijk huisvesting-sprofiel.
