Résumé En Fr

The metropolitan question in the United States : a new perspective — C. Ghorra-Gobin. In the beginning of the 21st century, metropolization is a theme that expresses both the on-going urbanization process occurring in the United States as well as the change of the scale of the city (designated by the term "city region") at the same time as the economic restructuring and the globalization of the economy. After underlining the social costs of the process, the analysis refers to two new census categories "boomburbs" and "micropolitan areas" to explain the results of the presidential election of 2004.
