Neuroeducation and Neuropsychoanalysis: from Neuroenchantment to Neurobullshit. In this article, we examine the current trend to add the “neuro” prefix to various fields and disciplines, in the hope of increasing their scientific credibility or prestige in the eyes of the public, by borrowing the halo and the reputation of a “hard science” of neuroscience. We illustrate this trend with two case studies dedicated to neuroeducation and neuropsychoanalysis, which lead to partly different conclusions, the first one being best characterised as neuropretention, the second as neurobullshit.

Dans cet article, nous examinons la tendance actuelle consistant à ajouter le préfixe « neuro » à différents domaines et disciplines, dans l'espoir d'augmenter leur crédibilité scientifique ou leur prestige auprès du grand public en tirant partie de l'aura et de la réputation de « science dure » des neurosciences. Nous illustrons cette tendance par deux études de cas consacrées à la neuroéducation et à la neuropsychanalyse, qui appellent des conclusions en parties différentes, la première relevant de la neuroprétention, la seconde des neurofoutaises.
