In his study of the landscape as hermeneutics, P.N. discusses he representation of nature by Renaissance artists. Discussing the contrast between «pure landscape» and the landscape including cities or gardens, he shows that the open landscape gained an ever increasing place in the arts because it can be identified with what Heidegger calls aletheia .
