A world outlook of cacao production. The author studies its evolution during the last ten years, characterized by the decline of Ghana and Nigeria, and the rise of the Ivory Coast and Brazil, which are now the two leading world producers. The author emphasizes on the fact that this production is basically destined to export, but he notes that exports of cacao beans are increasingly replaced by exports of processed products. He ends with a review of cacao bean prices on the international market.
