Pseudokarst landforms on Mars There are on Mars many morphologie features looking like karstic features, principally in aeolian, glacio-eolian and volcanic terrains : etch-pitted terrain, sinkholes alined along fractures, sinuous alinements of large cavities similar to megadolines, etc. Some of these features are probably collapse features, and some others probably thermokarstic features, but it is often difficult to understand exactly the process of their genesis, in some cases very different from the process of terrestrian morphologic features. We may evocate the possibility of an underground karst on Mars.

Mars présente une grande richesse de formes qui rappellent celles des karsts de la Terre. Les conditions de formation de ces formes, souvent de très grande dimension, sont probablement différentes, dans la plupart des cas, de celles des formes terrestres correspondantes. La possibilité d'un karst profond est évoquée.
