« Die Innendekoration des Schlosses von Saint-Cloud während des Zweiten französischen Regimes », Catherine Granger. Das Schloss von Saint-Cloud gehörte zu den offiziellen Residenzen Napoleons III, in denen er regelmassig wohnte. Er liess das Theater und die Orangerie abbrechen, nahm ansonsten keine weiteren architektonischen Anderungen daran vor. Eugénie und auch Napoléon III interessierten sich aber sehr fur die Dekoration : das ist dank vieler Aquarelle, Photographien und den Aufzeichnungen des Haushofmeisters Steward, bekannt. Deshalb kennen wir die Innendekoration eines Salons des Tischlers Michel-Victor Cruchet, der die Wände mit Zitronenholz verkleidet hat. Der Kaiser und die Kaiserin erwarben gerne Möbel, vor allem auf der Weltausstellung 1855. Viele alte und neue Zeichnungen und Schnitzereien, die ihnen gehörten, oder von Königin Hortense stammten, dekorierten das Schloss. Trotz des Brandes 1870, der das Schloss völlig zerstörte, wurden manche Werke gerettet.
