New species of the genus Typhlops (Serpentes, Typhlopidae) from the island of Saint-Barthélemy, comparison with the other species of the Lesser Antilles. A new species of the wormsnake Typhlops is described from the island of Saint-Barthélemy (Guadeloupe, French West Indies) where this snake genus was not previously known. The scales and coloration characteristics of the unique known specimen of the Saint-Barthélemy Typhlops allow to tell it without doubt from other Typhlops living in the Neotropics. This specimen is not an odd variant of a well-known species introduced in the island.

Une nouvelle espèce de serpent aveugle du genre Typhlops est décrite de l'île de Saint-Barthélemy où ce type de serpent n'était pas connu jusqu'ici. Les caractéristiques de l'écaillure et de la coloration de l'unique individu trouvé le différencient sans aucune ambiguïté des autres Typhlops néotropicaux. Le spécimen étudié n'est pas un individu aberrant appartenant à une espèce déjà bien connue.
