Gérard Gasarian, « Vers et prose chez Breton », Littérature, ID : 10.3406/litt.1993.2649
A fruitful method of exploring the relationship between prose and poetry in Breton 's work is to start with verse as spoken. Poetry must first turn the prosaisms of this world into miracles. But prose — or with « Tournesol », the insertion into a « real » story of the poem by means of later exegesis — will then show that « real » poetry announces what will come to pass «prosaically ». Thus prose and poetry revert into each other by means of changes in reality.
