The Art of Ambiguity The word ambiguity is at present everywhere, usually laudatory, usually aimed for — in as much as aiming at ambiguity is not too unequivocal. This generalised taste for the absence of decidable meaning reminds us that choice, even if or rather especially if it must be made outside meaning, is still the mark of freedom.
