L. F. Celine's Swallowed Poem. In "Bagatelles pour un massacre", Céline is refused access to the ballet at the Opera; he sees this as the result of a Jewish plot and exclaims "You have made me swallow back my jouissance... [...] Just let me show you what can result of swallowed poetry! [...] Just wait and see anti- semitism!" Desire, writing and ideology joined: what of this swallowed poem of Celine's? Is it not also Rimbaud's?
