Résumé En

"Food for Thought": Ethnography and Rhetoric According to Jean Paulhan In "Heart of Darkness" Conrad both uses this expression literally and inverts it — thereby doing to a cliché within an end of the 19th century novel concerned with colonial relations precisely what Paulhan, in a move both individual and modern, recommends doing to clichés in "Les Fleurs de Tarbes", whose context is the critique of 19th century ethnographic thought.
