Tlberi (Dominique). — Family album, self-portraits and visage of colonies. A Corsican exemple. Even though family photographs remain mainly legible when included within the private space which starts and creates them, it happens that an author's personality is such that il allows his family album to reach far beyond the limits generally allotted by this type of photography. The album we are dealing with here was achieved in the years running from 1922 to 1947, in the course of the author's military career. What we meant to do was to analyse the bonds existing between the family photographs realized by an author (turned a military man, but descended from a family of Corsican sheperds), his self-portraits, and the colonial context always veiled by the photographic practice at hand. This practice remains mainly included within a utopic space where the author tries to reveal and assert himself, playing with a set of outlooks in which the diverse identities building him up will oppose and confiront each other. Si les photos de famille demeurent principalement lisibles au sein de l'espace privé qui les suscite et les crée, il arrive que la personnalité d'un auteur permette à son album de famille d'aller bien au-delà des limites imparties à ce type de photographie. L'album dont nous traitons ici a été réalisé entre 1922 et 1947 au cours de la carrière militaire de l'auteur. Nous avons voulu analyser les liens qui existent entre les photos de famille réalisées par l'auteur (issu d'une famille de bergers corses et devenu militaire), ses autoportraits et le contexte colonial toujours occulté par la pratique photographique en présence. Celle-ci reste essentiellement inscrite dans un espace utopique où l'auteur cherche à se révéler et à s'affirmer dans un jeu de regards où s'opposent et s'affrontent les identités diverses qui le structurent.
