The Medieval settlement from Şibot Câmpul Pâinii was investigated in 2012, as part of a rescue excavation for the A1 Motorway (Orăştie – Sebeş segment). The area is very rich in archaeological sites. The presence of a medieval settlement dating from the 15th century and destroyed during the battle from 13th of October 1479 was confirmed in this area. The paper presents the analysis of a large number of some lesser known archaeological features, namely the 21 wells excavated at the site. The data presented in this paper completes the general image of the site and of the everyday life during the Middle Ages.

Le site médiéval de Şibot Câmpul Pâinii a été l’objet en 2012 d’une campagne de fouilles de sauvetage en liaison avec la construction de l’autoroute 1 Orăştie – Sibiu, tronçon Orăştie – Sebeş. Dans cette zone, riche en vestiges archéologiques, on a identifié un village médiéval du XVe siècle, détruit lors de la bataille du 13 octobre 1479. L’article présente les résultats d’une étude portant sur un nombre important de complexes archéologiques peu connus, consistant en 21 puits appareillés. Les données obtenues complètent l’image générale du site et de la vie quotidienne au Moyen-Âge.
