The existence of accounts about the tombs of the former political prisoners at Poarta Albă (Constanța County), led to the quest for a necropolis at the site known as Cimitirul Nou. Of the five individuals archaeologically investigated in 2017, one particularly attracted attention (the deceased''s bones had strong traces of burning, especially at the calves) and an anthropological examination was suggested. Despite the fact that anthropological study indicated that the remains did not belong to a former prisoner detained at Poarta Albă and who had allegedly been pushed into a working brick kiln, the skeletal material is nevertheless interesting. The clinical record of the deceased, with numerous pathological manifestations and elements that certify marked biomechanical stress, makes us believe that the burial most likely belongs to a necropolis of a forced labour colony. Besides the archaeological-historical significance, the individual possesses a special biological value, through his pathologies (the presence of Eagle''s syndrome or polyarticular osteoarthrosis).
