51 000 years ago, strombolian volcanic events filled the western part of Fuerteventura (Canary Islands). The valley-lavas buried mediterranean rhodoxeralfs. Luvic (leached and haplorthodic) in subsurface horizons, calcic in argilic deep horizons, this buried soils are interbeded with volcanic lavas. Thermometamorphi- sed by volcanic materials, the red partings are a good thermoluminescent age avaluation. Baked soils testify pedoclimatic change in mediterranean climate : humid and regular seasonal cycles (fersialilitic - ustalfitic pedo- genesis) followed by drier, fresh and irregular conditions (calcixeric - calciorthidic and brown podzolic pedo- genesis), during former Würm.

II y a 51 000 ans, des éruptions stromboliennes ont affecté le secteur occidental le plus ancien de Fuerteventura (Iles Canaries). Les coulées de vallées ont fossilisé des paléosols à caractère brun-rouge méditerranéen. Lessivés en surface, ces paléosols intervolcaniques présentent un horizon BCa calcifêre. Ils marquent une évolution sous conditions pédoclimatiques méditerranéennes d'abord humides, puis plus contrastées et sans doutes plus sèches et fraîches.
