Depuis l'intégration de la Péninsule ibérique au Marché européen en 1986, le centre de gravité de l'Europe économique a migré vers le sud-ouest. C'est dans ce contexte que les régions méditerranéennes françaises se présentent dans une situation originale à vocation nationale et internationale. Bien dotées en infrastructures de transport, disposant d'un dynamisme économique et démographique non négligeable, d'une armature urbaine hiérarchisée dominée par un centre géométrique représenté par la troisième métropole française, les régions Provence-Alpes-Côte-d' Azur et Languedoc-Roussillon nous paraissent également intéressantes du fait de leur diversité interne : triangle rhodano-méditerranéen, axes ferroviaires et autoroutiers littoraux, complexe portuaire marseillais, etc. Sont-elles cependant réellement prédisposées pour l'implantation des activités de transport et de stockage ? Peuvent-elles bénéficier, en termes de développement économique, de leur situation dans l'espace européen ? De quelle façon s'organisent-elles afin de figurer sur la carte des euro- régions logistiques ?
