THE POLITICAL NOVEL AS WRITTEN BY ALGERIAN AUTHORS IN ARABIC Arabic, Islam, and an attachment to certain values within Algerian identity, have constituted the principle political claims made in Algerian literature. The literature written in Arabic takes up the founding themes of nationalist ideology and vigorously strives to participate in the national project of the creation of a language and a culture. A mythologization of personalities and history attempts to create new points of reference and national values, without success.

LE ROMAN POLITIQUE DES ÉCRIVAINS ALGÉRIENS DE LANGUE ARABE Dans la littérature algérienne, l'arabe, l'islam et l'attachement à certaines valeurs de l'identité algérienne ont constitué des enjeux politiques. En langue arabe, cette littérature reprend les thèmes fondateurs de l'idéologie nationaliste et s'efforce de participer au projet national de création d'une langue et d'une culture. Une mythologisation des personnages et de l'histoire tend à créer nouvelles références et valeurs nationales, sans succès.

LA NOVELA POLÍTICA DE LOS ESCRITORES ARGELINOS DE LENGUA ARABE En la literatura argelina, el arabe, el islam y el apego a ciertos valores especificos de la identidad argelina constituyeron verderas apuestas políticas. La literatura de lengua arabe vuelve pues a utilizar los temas fundadores de la ideologia nacionalista y se esfuerza a paticipar en el poyecto nacional de creación de una lengua y de una cultura. Una mitologización de los personajes y de la historia tiende a la creación de nuevos valores y referencias nacionales pero sin gran resultado.
