HEARING THE VOICE OF THE WITNESS In works on the Shoah, an important role is attributed to silence, as the consequence of serious reservations as to the power and legitimacy of speech. This article studies silence as a significant rupture in speech, and that which in writing (ellipsis, suspension points, fragmentation) creates silence. It studies how the voice of the witness, when it can make itself heard, can rescue the victim from exclusion from humanity and reintegrate him/her into the shared community of speech.

ENTENDRE LA VOIX DU TÉMOIN Dans les œuvres sur la Shoah, une grande place est faite au silence, corollaire d'une immense réserve quant au pouvoir et à la légitimité du dire. Cet article étudie le silence en tant que rupture siginifiante dans le dire, à ce qui dans l'écriture (ellipse, point de suspension, fragmentation) fait silence. Il étudie comment la voix du témoin, quand elle peut se faire entendre, réintègre la victime dans ce partage d'humanité que constitue la parole, dont on avait voulu l'exclure.

ESCUCHAR LA VOZ DEL TESTIGO En las obras sobre la Shoah, el silencio ocupa un lugar importante que corresponde a una inmensa reserva con respecto al poder y a la legitimidad de la palabra. Este artículo estudia el silencio como ruptura significante en el acto de decir, y lo que en la escritura (elipsis, puntos suspensivos, fragmentación) lo significa. Estudia como la voz del testigo, cuando es audible, réintégra la victima dentro de la humanidad compartida, dentro de la palabra de la cual se la quizo excluir.
