Summary. — The Pontie city of Cerasus struck bronze coins under the Roman Empire, more precisely between the reigns of Hadrian and Severus Alexander. Our corpus consists in 53 coins with portraits of emperors on the obverse and religious types on the reverse. The study of these types on the reverse, with (limited) archaeological, epigraphical and literary data, give us a picture of this antique city and the surrounding Pontie coast, hitherto unknown and neglected by historians.
