Following an article devoted to the toponymic offspring of a root derived from Vulgar Latin : * bruscia " outgrowths", published in the previous issue of the NRO, this research continues the study of the toponymic substrate linked to small shrub vegetation, focusing on the offspring of a root of Germanic origin, namely * haisi " scrub, bush". This article proposes a thorough investigation into the past documentation and microtoponymy of the Ardenne department, which is then extended to the former Champagne-Ardennes region and then to the oïl zone. Particular attention is paid to the semantic aspects as well as to the derivative richness of the forms collected.

Après un article consacré à la descendance toponymique d’une racine issue du bas-latin : * bruscia " excroissances", publié dans le précédent numéro de la NRO, cette recherche poursuit l’étude du substrat toponymique lié à la petite végétation arbustive, en s’attachant à la descendance d’une racine d’origine germanique, à savoir * haisi " broussailles, buissons". L’article propose une investigation approfondie dans la documentation ancienne et la microtoponymie du département des Ardennes, qui est ensuite étendue à l’ancienne région de Champagne-Ardenne, puis à la zone d’oïl. Une attention particulière est portée aux aspects sémantiques ainsi qu’à la richesse dérivative des formes recueillies.
