The site of Dur Khan, recently surveyed by the French Archaeological Mission in Pakistan, has revealed two phases of occupation. The first one (800-600 B.C) follows the end of the Period III C at Pirak; the second one (600-300 B.C.) is related to the early historical Indo-Pakistani sites and thus fills the gap between the end of the Pirak culture (Bronze and Iron Age) and the beginning of the early historical cultures.

Le site de Dur Khan (Baluchistan, Pakistan), prospecté récemment par la Mission Archéologique de l'Indus, compte deux phases d'occupation : la première (800-600 av. J.C.), à rattacher à la fin de la période III C de Pirak, la seconde (600-300 av. J.C.), caractérisée par un matériel comparable à celui des sites indo-pakistanais de la 2e moitié du Ier millénaire av. J.C. Ceci nous permet de combler la lacune entre la fin de la culture de Pirak (âge du bronze et du fer) et les cultures du début de la période historique.
