Backed microlithic lunates, normally associated with late epipaleolithic industries in the Near East, reappeared for a brief span toward the end of the fourth millennium B.C. This tool type may serve as a chrono-stratigraphic indicator for this period, and their reappearance is of intrinsic theoretical interest.

Les segments à dos microlithiques, associés normalement aux industries épipaléolithiques récentes du Proche-Orient, réapparaissent pendant une courte période vers la fin du 4e millénaire avant notre ère. Ce type d'outil peut donc servir d'indicateur chronologique. Sa réapparition est d'un intérêt théorique intrinsèque.
