Pharmaceutical Posters at the end of the Nineteenth Century. Although posters have had a long history, their golden age occured between 1880 to 1900 or 1905. French, British and American artists contributed many important examples during this period, and among them were many of pharmaceutical interest. These advertised tablets, syrups, pastilles, mineral waters, pharmacies, fund raising events and even powerful belts to prevent sea sickness. Although such material is still appearing, it is only rarely that examples appear of the same quality as at the turn of the century.
