Ein zu erklärender Punkt im Berufsleben von Baume : seine Zugehörigkeit zur Madrider Akademie. Mehrmals, zwischen 1777 und 1790, bezeichnet sich Baumé als Mitglied der Akademie von Madrid. Die Autoren dieses Beitrages haben vergebens danach gesucht um welche Akademie es sich wohl handelt. Sie wünschen dass andere Forscher diese Frage mit Erfolg bearbeiten können.
