From Chéradame to Fourcroy – It is traditional to read that the young Vauquelin was recommended by Chéradame to his cousin Fourcroy. The purpose of this article is to clarify by what parentage they were cousins. Chéradame, Laugier and Fourcroy were the sons of three brothers an sister of the family Laugier.

Il est classique de lire que le jeune Vauquelin fut recommandé par Chéradame à son cousin germain, le chimiste Antoine-François de Fourcroy. Le but du présent article est de préciser par quelle filiation ils étaient cousins. Fourcroy, Chéradame et Laugier étaient, en effet, les fils de trois frères et soeur de la famille Laugier.
