The notion of « Ground » in Schelling : A partial interpretation. The central notion of Schelling's thought is that of the Ground. Despite its theosophical overtones this concept is only the culmination of the Kantian notion of the sensory manifold, formalised and hypostasied into the Non-Ego by Fichte. The Ground synthetizes the two domains of becoming, nature and logic, under the form of a violent passivity in order to oppose this new category to the sphere of existence which is freedom.

La notion centrale de la philosophie schellingienne est celle du fondement qui malgré son apparence théosophique est le successeur véritable du multiple sensible kantien, formalisé et hypostasié dans le Non-Moi de Fichte. Le fondement synthétise les deux aspects du devenir, la nature et le logique, et les oppose comme passivité violente à la sphère de l'existence qui est liberté.
