This article endeavours firstly to appreciate J. Pépin's examination of the different (so-called by him) theological texts of the Corpus Aristotelicum. Throughout such a critical study, the author tries to define the meaning of « theological » vocabulary or discourse in Aristotle, starting from a methodological point of view. Emphasis is here placed on those matters which must be taken into account before the exegetical work proper, and especially : Aristotle's aim in the often very different contexts, where God or gods or divinities are referred to. So the discussion here undertaken must introduce to the most crucial question that could be raised on the subject : is there an Aristotelian theology and in what sense of the word?

Cet article s'efforce, tout d'abord, d'apprécier l'examen opéré par J. Pépin sur les différents textes (selon lui) théologiques du Corpus Aristotelicum. Par cette étude critique, l'auteur tâche de définir la signification du vocabulaire ou du discours « théologique » chez Aristote, en partant d'un point de vue méthodologique. Ce qu'il faut prendre en considération avant le travail proprement exégétique est ici souligné, avant tout : les intentions d' Aristote dans les contextes, souvent très différents, où il se réfère à Dieu, aux dieux ou aux divinités. De cette manière, la discussion entreprise ici doit introduire au problème le plus crucial que l'on puisse soulever sur le sujet : y a-t-il une théologie aristotélicienne et en quel sens ?
