Die Ausgrabungen auf dem gallo-römischen Fundplatz ,,Vieux-Champagne/Le Bois du Châtel (Seine-et-Marne)" haben mehrere Strulturen zutage gebracht, die zu einer gallo-römischen villa gehören, die vom 1. bis zum Ende des 3. Jh. n.Chr. besiedelt war. Die Hauptstrukturen bestehen in einem land- wirtschaftlichen Gebäude, das vermutlich als Getreidespeicher genutzt wurde und einem Wohngebäude. Dieses bestand aus zwei Haupträumen, die von einem Mittelkorridor getrennt waren und war mit einer Säulenreihe an der Westfassade und einem hervorspringendem Turm bestuckt. Diese ländliche Siedlung bezeugt ausserdem die seltene Besonderheit eine handwerkliche Produktion erster Güte beherbergt zu haben: die Produktion von Mùnzimitationen des späten 3. Jh. n.Chr. Die Werkstatten von Vieux- Champagne ("Le Bois de Châtel") und Châteaubleau erweisen sich als die wichtigsten, bisher bekannten aus dieser Epoche.

Excavations on the Gallo-Roman site of Vieux-Champagne "Le Bois du Châtel" (Seine-et-Marne) revealed several structures belonging to a Gallo-Roman villa occupied from the 1st century AD till the end of the 3rd century. The main structures include an agricultural building potentially used for grain storage and a domestic binding consisting of two main parts separated by a median corridor, together with a west-facing gallery and a tower. This rural establishment also presents the rare characteristic of housing a first-rate craft unit for producing counterfeit coinage at the end of the 3rd century AD. The workshops of Vieux-Champagne ("Le Bois du Châtel") and Châteaubleau have turned out to be the most important ones currently known for this period.

Les fouilles menées sur le site gallo-romain du "Bois du Châtel" à Vieux-Champagne (Seine-et-Marne) ont permis de mettre au jour plusieurs structures appartenant à une villa gallo-romaine, occupée du Ier siècle après J.-C. à la fin du IIIe siècle. Les principales concernent un bâtiment agricole potentiellement utilisé comme grenier céréalier et une maison d'habitation constituée de deux pièces principales séparées par un couloir médian, et munie d'une galerie de façade occidentale et d'une tour d'angle saillante. Cet établissement rural présente également la particularité, rare, d'avoir abrité une unité artisanale de premier plan : une production de monnaies d'imitation de la fin du IIIe siècle. Les officines de Vieux-Champagne ("Le Bois du Châtel") et de Châteaubleau s'avèrent les plus importantes connues à ce jour pour cette période.
