Summary In the response learning to a T-maze situation, it happens that some rats « learn » the incorrect response, when using the correction method. This is a study of two experimental conditions, supposed to influence the lateralization process and thus to improve or to impair the development of this behavior : the ability to retrace, and the standardization of the manipulation of rats by the experimenter. The last variable exerts much stronger effects than does the former.

Dans l'apprentissage d'orientation dans un labyrinthe en T où la latéralité de réponse motrice est l'indice pertinent, on constate qu'avec la méthode de parcours libre un certain nombre de rats acquièrent la réponse de sens incorrect. Nous avons étudié l'effet de deux conditions expérimentales supposées agir sur la latéralisation et ainsi permettre ou gêner l'apparition de cette conduite : la possibilité de retour au point de départ, et l'uniformité de la manipulation des rats par l'expérimentateur. Cette seconde variable s'avère beaucoup plus déterminante que la première.
