Summary : Neuropsychology of mental imagery. Mechanisms of mental imagery are mainly studied in experimental psychology and the author reviews the neuropsychological contribution in this field of research. Three successive topics are considered : the relation-ships between imagery and verbal encoding (nature of the stimuli, effects of the experimental constraints, effects of the subject's imagery capacities), ihe similarities, differences and relationships between imagery and perception, and the uni- or polymodal nature of images. It appears two conclusions : (a) the neuropsy chology validates some hypotheses about imagery (the two modes of mental representation, the analogies between imagery and perception, the unimodalily of imagery) ; (b) the neuropsychology may be a useful paradigm in order to study the reciprocal effects among the perception and the two modes of object's representation. L'auteur passe en revue les recherches neuropsychologiques qui pourraient contribuer à la connaissance des mécanismes de l'imagerie visuelle, essentiellement étudiée en psychologie expérimentale. Il apparaît que la neuropsychologie tend à vérifier un certain nombre de propositions de la psychologie (l'existence de deux systèmes de représentations, l'analogie entre la perception et l'imagerie, l'unimodalité de l'image) et qu'elle pourrait en outre constituer un paradigme utile pour l'analyse des interférences réciproques entre la perception de l'objet et les deux modes de représentation de ce dernier.
