A palaeobotanical and radiometnc study of peaty deposits, laying at the limit of the lower sandy loams and the upper sandy sediments of the weichsehan Pléniglacial, reveals the presence of the Denekamp interstadial. It was also possible to follow the transition to the Pléniglacial B. The pollen assemblages of the interstadial, where the trees may attain more than 60 % at some levels, differ from those of the beginning of the pléniglacial B, showing percentages lower than 15 %. The end of the Denekamp interstadial may be stated at about 29 000 years B.P. The humid climate, reigning during the whole Pléniglacial A, persisted in the interstadial and even in the beginning of the Pléniglacial B, allowing the formation of peats, containing often shells of sweetwater molluscs.

Une étude paléobotanique et radiométrique de couches tourbeuses, se trouvant à la limite des limons sableux inférieurs et des sables supérieurs du Pléniglacial weichsélien, a permis d'établir la présence de l'interstade Denekamp et d'éclaircir son passage vers le Pléniglacial B. La palynoflore de cet interstade, dont les arbres peuvent atteindre plus de 60 % dans certains spectres se distingue de celle du début du Pléniglacial B, dont le pourcentage d'arbres ne dépasse jamais 15 %. La fin de l'interstade Denekamp se situe à environ 29 000 ans B.P. Les conditions climatiques humides, régnant durant le Pléniglacial A, ont persisté pendant l'interstade Denekamp et se sont même prolongées au début du Pléniglacial B, permettant l'élaboration de tourbes, renfermant souvent des coquilles d'eau douce.
