Abstract
Recent research work was undertaken with the aim of verifying the features excavated at the foot of the oppidum of Gergovie during the ninteenth century and then identified as ceasarian siege works. This work, as well as confirming the exactitude of the former researchs, provides new elements concerning the function and the datation of the ditches.
