Inscriptions lapidaires et marques sur amphores

A study of the nomina that appear on three inscriptions from Narbonne, one from Glanum and one from Alexandria which is now preserved in the Musée Calvet of Avignon. The names, Loreius, -a (of Campanian origin), Statius and Meuius (ofOscan origin) all belonging to freedmen, are found also in stamps on amphorae of Laietana 1 type, made in the region called Maresme, along the Catalan coast. This fact shows the importance of the Narbonne seaports in the shipment, both by sea and by river, of the wine made in Laietania during the second half of the 1st century B.C.E. and the beginning of the 1st century C.E.

Etude des nomina qui apparaissent sur trois inscriptions de Narbonne, une de Glanum et une autre conservée au Musée Calvet d'Avignon mais provenant d'Alexandrie. Les noms, Loreius, -a (d'origine campanienne), Statius et Meuius (d'origine osque), appartenant tous à des affranchis, se retrouvent dans des marques d'amphores du type Laietana 1, fabriquées dans la région du Maresme, sur la côte catalane. Ce fait met en évidence l'importance des ports de Narbonne dans le commerce, maritime et fluvial, du vin de Léétanie pendant la deuxième moitié du Ier siècle av. J.-C. et le début du Ier siècle de notre ère.
