The eponymity in Greek cities of Asia Minor is here discussed as a phenomenon closely connected with the administrative systems of these cities. The author argues that genuine reasons for the choice of this or that system of dating particular events and documents by the Greek cities of Asia Minor depended on the level of administration to which this event or document was relevant. The epony m was to be the official who corresponded to this level of administration ; if the document or event related to more than one level of the inner-city administration, more than one eponym was used to date this document or event.

La magistrature éponyme des cités grecques d'Asie Mineure est ici analysée comme un phénomène lié aux systèmes administratifs. L'auteur soutient que la raison du choix du système de datation des événements particuliers ou des documents par les cités d'Asie Mineure dépendait du niveau de l'administration dont cet événement ou ce document relevait. L'éponyme était un magistrat qui correspondait à ce niveau administratif de la cité. Si le document ou l'événement concernait plus d'un niveau plusieurs éponymes pouvaient être impliqués dans la datation.
