Three inscribed spoons of Egyptian origin are here reinterpreted in the light of the hagiographical tradition concerning John the Evangelist. The mention of manna on one of them is not a reference to the Old Testament, but to the white powder which flowed out of the apostle's tomb at Ephesos.

A propos d'un ensemble de cuillers inscrites. — Trois cuillers inscrites d'origine égyptienne sont ici réinterprétées à la lumière de la tradition hagiographique concernant Jean l'évangéliste. La mention de la manne sur l'une d'entre elles ne renvoie pas à l'Ancien Testament, mais à la poudre blanche qui jaillissait du tombeau de l'apôtre à Éphèse.
