Ali Bayar. - Marxist theory and the Party-controlled mode of production. Can Marxist theory help us to study the nature of a system which is thought to have put Marx's ideas into practice ? The question, of course, has already been asked, but since the collapse of the Soviet system it calls for further examination. Such, at least, is the opinion of the author, who bases his article on Marx's investigative method, and the critical spirit of his work. He offers the basic elements of a new « Marxist » analysis of the Party-controlled mode of production, based on the reality of the Soviet system, whose core was not the State but the Party. He throws light on the specific nature of the fetishism involved - a dual fetishism of ideology and economics : plan and planned commodity - and goes on to analyse the plan in its social relationships.

La théorie de Marx peut-elle nous aider à étudier la nature d'un système censé avoir mis en œuvre ses idées? La question a déjà été posée, bien sûr, mais elle mérite une nouvelle attention après l'effondrement du système soviétique. Telle est du moins l'opinion de l'auteur qui appuie son article sur la méthode d'investigation de Marx et sur l'esprit critique de son œuvre. Il présente les éléments fondamentaux d'une nouvelle analyse marxienne du mode de production partitique, néologisme créé par analogie au « mode de production étatique » et fondé sur la réalité du système soviétique dont le noyau n'était pas l'État mais le Parti. Le caractère spécifique du fétichisme - fétichisme idéologique et fétichisme économique double : plan et marchandise planifiée - est mis en lumière, le plan étant ensuite analysé en tant que rapport social.
