Maximus Planudes, the Codex Laurentianus 60. 8, and Other Aristidean Manuscripts

The codex Laurentianus 60.8 (T), which contains the speeches of the rhetor Aelius Aristides, cannot be assigned to the 11th century. A date at the very end of the 13th century is the earliest possible. The text is probably due to one scribe only. His hand is to be identified as that of the second copyist of the Planudean Anthology (Marcianus gr. 481). As for the dating of two other Aristides codices, Vaticanus gr. 1297 (Q) should be assigned tot the 14th century, and not much before the middle of the century∞∞∞ ; Parisinus gr. 2948 (P) + Oxford, Canonici gr. 84 (B) could be of the 14th century.

Le manuscrit Laurentianus 60.8, qui contient les discours du rhéteur Aelius Aristide, ne peut pas être placé au XIe siècle, mais date de la fin du XIIIe siècle au plus tôt. Le texte a été copié probablement par un seul scribe, dont la main doit être identifiée avec celle du deuxième copiste de l’Anthologie de Planude (Marcianus gr. 481).
