D’Élatée à Delphes : un étolarque et un xystarque

New publication of a dedication discovered at Elateia in Phocis, datable to the end of the 2nd century or the beginning of the 3rd century A. D. (Bull. 2014, 248 ; Ann. Épigr. 2013, 1435) : offered by an etolarch, whose title itself demonstrates the existence of an organization covering Aetolia, the dedication honors a xystarch of Pythia. Between this dedication and the amphictionic statue-base erected at Delphi CID IV 164, a connection is necessary, to the point that the inscription of Elateia leads to an improved edition of that of Delphi. These dedications might have formed a pair of reciprocal offerings between T. Flavius Eurydikos and M. Aur. Euagathos, two prominent notables in the Amphictiony and the agonistic life of Central Greece c. 200 A. D.

Nouvelle étude d’une dédicace découverte à Élatée de Phocide, datant de la fin du IIe s. ou du début du IIIe s. ap. J.-C. (Bull. 2014, 248 ; Ann. Épigr. 2013, 1435) : offerte par un étolarque, dont le titre même démontre l’existence alors d’une organisation coiffant l’Étolie, la dédicace honore un xystarque des Pythia. Entre cette dédidace et la base amphictionique érigée à Delphes CID IV 164, un rapprochement s’impose, au point que l’inscription d’Élatée amène à retoucher l’édition de celle de Delphes. Ces dédicaces pourraient avoir formé une paire d’offrandes réciproques entre T. Flavius Eurydikos et M. Aur. Euagathos, deux notables éminents dans l’Amphictionie et la vie agonistique de la Grèce Centrale vers 200 ap. J.-C.
